Daniela Hölbling | Violinist & Educator

Daniela Hölbling is a versatile violinist and passionate educator, active as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player across Europe and the United States. Her recent highlights include a solo recital at the "Warsaw Autumn" festival as well as chamber music performances at the Brahms-Saal of the Vienna Musikverein and at international festivals in Portugal (Lagoa) and Denmark (Aalborg).

Performance & Experience

Daniela’s international experience was shaped during her time in the USA, where she served as concertmaster of the Western Illinois University Symphony Orchestra and held a scholarship position as second violinist of the Julstrom Faculty String Quartet.

In Austria, Daniela is a permanent member of the recreation – Grosses Orchester Graz. She is also a regular guest of the styriarte Festival orchestra, performing under renowned conductors such as Jordi Savall, Heinrich Schiff, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, and Alondra de la Parra. Her chamber music dedication has been recognized with a funding prize from the Martha Debelli Foundation and invitations to prestigious series such as "Musique de chambre" in Strasbourg.

Education & Training

Daniela received her musical education in Austria and the USA, holding both a Magistra Artium (with distinction) and a Master of Arts from the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. Alongside her musical achievements she was also awarded a certificate for scientific excellence at Western Illinois University.

Her musical development was guided by Helfried Fister, Anke Schittenhelm, and Ida Bieler, complemented by masterclasses with Igor Ozim, Yair Kless, and members of the Alban Berg Quartet. Adding a distinctive dimension to her profile, she holds a degree in Electrical and Sound Engineering from the Graz University of Technology.

Teaching & Projects

Since 2016, Daniela has been teaching violin at the Johann-Joseph-Fux Conservatory in Graz. Beyond preparing students for university entrance and competitions, she has initiated several projects in Graz, including the "Vivaldi Project Graz" and the "Streicherklasse Ferdinandeum." Her youth ensemble, the "Streicherchor," has gained wide recognition, with performances at the steirischer herbst festival and broadcasts on national radio (Ö1) from the Helmut List Halle.
